The Department of Oral Maxillofacial Pathology is the first ever complete functional department (of Maulana Azad Dental College & Hospital) in whole of North India that is equipped with latest instruments.

It caters mainly to the patients who are referred for oral biopsy investigations and haemogram analysis. These investigations are done by the expert technician under the surveillance of the Oral Pathologist. Latest instruments have been procured and are being further procured for immunological investigations. About 10-20 cases of biopsies are reported in a week.

The Department besides being equipped with latest instruments has a research microscope which is fitted to the camera and a TV monitor. It serves a dual purpose i.e. reporting of slides as well as a training media to the undergraduates.

Students of third year who have the subject of Oral Pathology in their curriculum are trained in the theory and practicals. Interns and Junior Residents are posted in this department and are given training in the routine lab investigative procedures.

• Histopathologic reporting of oral biopsied tissue.
